K.2.4                  TRICONTAM

TRICONTAM is a global contamination model developed at Technical University Hamburg Harburg (TUHH), Germany[RD.96]. It seems to be essentially devoted to computing contamination from thruster plume exhausts. The plume flowfield is computed by an improved version of CONTAM III (CONTAM III is an older code essentially concerning transient combustion processes and chemistry), and the contaminant transport to spacecraft surfaces is assumed to be collisionless. An important part of the software is dedicated to forces, torques and thermal analysis.

The major interest of that code is that its results were compared to the numerous experimental measurements realized at TUHH [RD.97].
